About Me!

Hey fellow rock stars!

My name is Marisa Meyerowitz, and I am an upcoming high school senior. Journalism has been my passion since the start of high school; therefore, I am hoping to major in journalism as a college student. Having been on the newspaper staff at Roswell High School for 2 years as a reporter and page editor, I am ecstatic to be the Co-Editor-in-Chief of the 2010-2011 staff. As one of the Editor-in-Chiefs of next year's paper, I am hoping to make my school's newspaper "The Sting" the best it has been since the paper was started. This is one of the major reasons that I am here at the Georgia Journalism Academy.

When I am not working on the school newspaper, I can be found in many other school associations and clubs, such as the National Honors Society, Beta Club, Anchor Club, and National Spanish Honors Society. Service, scholarship, and academics are all very important to me. The University of Georgia is my number one choice for college. I am hoping that this experience will help me in getting accepted into both the university itself and Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication.

In addition to school and my education, my job is very important to me. As an employee for Delia*s, a girl's clothing store located in 3 malls throughout Georgia, I am able to help young girls and girls my own age find outfits and clothing that make them have high confidence and self esteem. This is very rewarding.

Overall, my friends and family are of number one importance to me. I enjoy doing what most teenagers like to do. Now that it's summer, I am either at the pool, going out to lunch with friends, shopping, and much more. I am super excited to be here at The University of Georgia's Grady College!
