Working on two articles with a deadline hasn't proven to be too difficult for me. This could be because of a few different things.... first of all, I really only had one article, the potter review article. The other one was a simple lead paragraph and a list of songs. Also, I've been on my school newspaper for a year now and sometimes unexpected events would cause us to have a really close deadline. Because of that, I feel that I'm used to working quickly while still maintaining a decent article. Finally, I'm a natural early bird. I literally find myself in an anxiety attack or unable to sleep if I don't get something done as soon as possible. So, as usual, I got my articles done quickly and efficiently.
The only problem I seemed to face was that I've never actually had to interview someone for an article before. This really surprises me now that I've been at the UGA Journalism Academy and seen how integral interviews can be to an article. After receiving my writing assignments, I was pretty nervous about being able to interview the right people and get helpful quotes before deadline.
For the most part, it's been smooth sailing! :)
Kate! I am so proud and happy for you. You seem super experienced with news writing and just the writing process in general. I truly admire your style and voice, along with your general AWESOME ability for time handling. Good luck with submitting your work. (:
