Inquiring Minds Want to Know

Hello again!
One of the best things about being a journalist is being fearless and encountering new and amazing people. You just throw out "My momma told me not to talk to strangers..." and put yourself out there and GET THAT STORY.
I went downtown yesterday and arbitrarily picked people with different backgrounds and interviewed them. They all received me pretty well and I got some pretty good statements. I interviewed everyone from an old man eating ice cream(his name was Mike and he's retired from the variety of odd jobs he had in his life) to 20 year old college students. It was kind of disappointing when I was rejected by an old man at Starbucks and a women who wouldn't let me interviewed her daughters about the upcoming movie Toy Story 3(they wanted to be interviewed!). I wasn't going to ask them about politics or sex and drugs...just about chivalry and and a G rated movie. Mrs. Mary Jessica said that you get used to rejection the more you interview people but it still hurts because who wouldn't want to published???
As far as my story selection goes I know that I like to take on a lot of stories. I think it is more out of habit and my penchant (thanks LISA!) for writing and hunger to be a better journalist than pride.
Rising Tuition Rates I was interested in the topic because I'm concerned about how much I'm going to have to pay or leave in debt for a higher education (which is of then upmost importance to me). My philosophy is I don't care how much I have to pay to go to an institution I just want to learn and be surrounded by the best so I can among the best. But with the current economy I began to wonder how much is too much?
Toy Story 3 "Andy's going to college," said Andy's mom. Andy has grown up and it's time for him to put away childish things. That means Woody, Buzz and the gang have to go to a daycare. I just really want to do a preview and build up the hype a bit. Get people excited to see the movie. If they already aren't already.
Chivalry Who wouldn't want to interview guys about why aren't they still throwing their jackets on puddles or showing proper respect or rather see me in a bikini than with a book? Inquiring minds want to know.
Summer Playlist I love music and making people happy. Music makes happiness.

Till Tomorrow,
(It's only a day away!)
April M.
